In automotive transmissions, the shift synchronizer ring relies on friction to achieve synchronization. Applying an aluminum-molybdenum alloy coating enables self-locking functionality during gear operation, ensuring safe and smooth driving. The shift fork significantly impacts transmission shifting performance, reliability, and service life. Therefore, in product design, thermal spraying treatments such as CU-AL and NI-AL are applied to the working surface of the shift fork to enhance its wear resistance, lubrication, and fatigue strength.

 

During shift fork manufacturing, sandblasting the substrate surface is critical to ensure adhesion of the thermal spray coating. The sandblasted roughness profile and RA value must remain consistent, requiring stringent control over blasting angle, pressure, duration, coverage, and abrasive classification—requirements traditional sandblasting equipment cannot meet.
